What the Auction Is and Why It Matters: A Friendraiser

At Central Wisconsin Christian School, our Harvest Auction is more than a fundraiser. It’s a friendraiser—a special evening where our community comes together to celebrate, connect, and support Christ-centered education. Our entire CWC family unites to help our school in its mission to teach students to glorify God and serve in His world.

Why it matters:

Through this event, we raise essential funds that directly impact student learning, activities, and opportunities. Last year, we raised over $280,000! These dollars support classroom resources, technology, enrichment programs, and unique student experiences that we offer at CWC. Every person who attends our Harvest Auction leaves not just having enjoyed a memorable evening, but also knowing that their support directly impacted the academic and spiritual growth of each of our students. Every conversation, handshake, and bid placed reflects the collective commitment of our community to invest in a meaningful, faith-driven education.

What happens at the auction:

Dinner and silent auction
The evening begins with a delicious themed meal. After enjoying your meal, head into the gym to start browsing and bidding on all of our silent auction items. We typically receive over 500 items, so there is something for everyone! Take a look at all of our items, from unique handmade items, to gift cards for a special evening out, to amazing items that will pique anybody’s interest. Our silent auction is a relaxed and social way to start the evening, with plenty of time to connect with friends and find your favorite items. Can’t make it in person? Online bidding starts September 14th. You can bid or donate from home and still be part of the fun!

Live Auction
After dinner, the excitement ramps up with our signature live auction! Featuring around 75 high-demand items, the live auction is a fast-paced and thrilling experience that encourages friendly competition and generous giving. Our talented MC’s and Auctioneers will lead the crowd through each item and give everyone a chance to throw up their bidder numbers and get the items they want the most. Whether you get in on the bidding action, or sit back and take in the excitement, this is a fun event that you won’t want to miss!

The Sausage Project
One of the most unique and fun traditions at our auction is the Sausage Project. Each year, Brandon Meats generously donates a five-foot sausage for the auction, and we turn it into a special giving opportunity during the live auction.

Here’s how it works: the sausage is divided into pieces, and attendees can purchase a piece for $100 each. During this portion of the live auction, participants hold up their bidder number along with the number of pieces they want, making the bidding exciting, interactive, and community-focused.

This year, all funds raised through the Sausage Project will go toward new risers, lights, and sound equipment for our school—enhancing performances, assemblies, and chapel experiences for our students.

It’s a fun way to give generously while supporting a tangible, high-impact need at CWC. Every piece of the sausage sold brings us closer to upgrading our performance spaces, all while adding laughter and energy to the night.

This Year’s Theme: Oogstfeest – A Celebration of Harvest

Each year, our Harvest Auction takes on a special theme that captures the spirit of the evening, and this year we are thrilled to celebrate Oogstfeest—a Dutch word meaning “harvest festival.” The theme reflects the abundance, community, and gratitude that lie at the heart of our school’s mission. Just as a harvest gathers the fruits of hard work, our auction brings together the generosity, talents, and energy of our CWC community to support our students and programs.

From festive decorations to themed signage and activities, Oogstfeest transforms the evening into a celebration of fellowship and faith. Attendees will feel the warmth of community as they bid on exciting items, enjoy a delicious Dutch-themed meal, and participate in our Sausage Project. More than a fundraiser, Oogstfeest reminds us all to give thanks for the blessings in our lives and to invest in the next generation of servant leaders.
