Standardized Testing

Central Wisconsin Christian along with their rigorous curriculum utilizes achievement tests to periodically review students’ academic growth and to evaluate students’ skills and CWC’s curriculum.

The following are the tests the school uses:

The Wisconsin Forward Exam is designed to gauge how well students are doing in relation to the Wisconsin Academic Standards. These standards outline what students should know and be able to do in order to be college and career ready. The Forward Exam is administered online in the spring of each school year at:
• grades 3-8 in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics,
• grades 4 and 8 in science and,
• grades 4, 8, and 10 in social studies

9th - 11th Grade: CWC offers the ACT Assessments

This includes ACT Aspire for 9th and 10th graders.  These tests assess students knowledge of high school coursework, as well as assist students and parents in beginning the process for post high school opportunities.  These tests also serve as building blocks for identifying academic strengths and weaknesses prior to the student taking the ACT test their junior year.

11th Grade:  Students take the PSAT and the ACT

In October, CWC administers the PSAT/NMSQT, the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  This is a program sponsored by the College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This is a standardized test that gives first hand practice for students taking either the SAT or ACT.  CWC counseling department using this test to help students identify one more time skills they must improve on prior to taking their ACT test in the spring or summer. Students are also given great tools through this test to use in college or career planning.  Finally, this test provides students the opportunity to enter the National Merit Scholarship program that has the potential to gain access to scholarships. In the Feb/March most students will take the ACT Assessments.  ACT is one of most widely used College Entrance Exams. CWC holds an extra exam prep class on Saturdays for interested students. There is a cost for this course.
