What is the School Choice Program?

The WPCP is a statewide voucher program that allows families to choose a private school education for their children. For those who qualify, the state provides funding that can be used toward tuition at participating schools like ours—making Christian education more accessible to families.

School Choice FAQ's

  • Yes. Students participate in Bible-based instruction, prayer, and faith-integrated learning throughout the day. Students who participate in the School Choice program can opt out of Bible classes and chapel, however, we integrate biblical teaching into every subject and activity. The experiences of other schools indicate that such opt-out situations are extremely rare and go against many of the reasons that parents would have for selecting CWC as the school of choice for their children. All students and parents, regardless of their tuition support level, are required to read and sign the student handbook. Any student who does not adhere to the handbook and its disciplinary expectations for attending CWC will be subject to remedial and disciplinary action.

  • Family income includes the income of the child's parent(s) or legal guardian(s) that reside in the same household as the student applicant. If the child's parents/legal guardians are married their income is reduced by $7000 when determining income eligibility for the program.

  • Family size includes parents/legal guardians and their children by birth, marriage or adoption that reside in the same household as the student applicant.

  • The voucher covers full tuition. Some additional costs (such as field trips or extracurriculars) may not be included.

  • Yes. Many students enter our school from public school through the Choice program. Eligibility rules may vary slightly depending on grade level and prior enrollment.

  • Yes. Siblings may apply, and in some cases may have expanded eligibility. We can help guide you through those details.

  • We currently offer transportation outside of the Waupun school district at many locations for no additional cost

  • Eligibility is determined at the time of application. Once accepted, students can typically remain in the program even if household income increases in future years.

  • The WPCP has a set enrollment period each year. If you miss it, you will have to wait for the following year to apply and if your student is currently enrolled at CWC, you may enter at 4K, K, 1st or 9th grades.

If your student is not enrolled at CWC or another voucher school, they may enter the voucher program at any grade during the open application periods in February, March, April, and August for the following school year.

  • Should your family not qualify or receive a Choice voucher, CWC remains committed to providing assistance to families that desire a Christ-centered education for their children. Please reach out to our school office at 920-324-4233 if you have questions about tuition assistance.
