Visual Art

Students have numerous opportunities to grow in the area of visual arts at Central Wisconsin Christian.  All sophomores take a required art class as part of their course load, while electives in Advanced Art and Independent Art further students’ development of their skills and talents.  In addition, an Art Club meets weekly where students can work on projects and extend their artistic gifts in areas such as sculpture, pottery, ceramics, drawing, painting, digital design, and more.  Our annual Art Show coincides with our Celebration of the Arts in May, giving kids a showcase of their outstanding work.

The Central Wisconsin Art Department celebrates along with Seniors, Katherine Coraggio and Hannah Bresser who were privileged in taking home some of the top awards offered by the Beaver Dam Area Art Association at the  annual Area High School Art Show.
Hannah Bresser's mixed media painting along with her watercolor painting was awarded Honorable Mention  in the Senior Awards category and Katherine Coraggio’s photograph,  "Insect Attraction" won the annual Bertha Proctor Purchase award for $500.  Congratulations, girls!

Nancy's Corner - Maria DeGroot, Radial Art Quilt - Video

Premiere date: Dec 15, 2014

Sixth grade students created radial art designs with their initials and names. Maria DeGroot, a school volunteer, helped the students make these beautiful designs into an appliquéd medallions quilt. The quilt was used as a raffle item to raise money for their school. In the process of creating designs, the students learned to use a new medium—fabric—plus they learned about the art of quilting.
