POSITION:
I am the homeroom teacher for 7th grade. I teach 6th through 8th  English/Language Arts.

EDUCATION:
I grew up in Southern California and attended Dordt University. I hold a BA degree in Elementary Education with a Theology minor.

CWC BACKGROUND:
I have taught 4th grade, as well as a number of middle school subjects through the years. 2022 begins my 27th year of teaching.

FAMILY:
My husband Al, who is a CWC graduate, raises beef cattle, farms, prepares taxes during the tax season and also stays busy with some lay preaching

We have four children, all alumni of CWC. Jon works as a Financial Planner in Waupun. He is married to a CWC graduate who also works in the insurance area. Our daughter Anna lives in Henderson, NE, and along with her husband have an electrical business there. Our second daughter, Grace, is a Media Marketing Coordinator for Horicon Bank, and her husband is in banking as well.  Our second son, Joe, also married to a CWC grad, is the Director of Membership and Programs for the Fond du Lac Association of Commerce. His wife is a social worker for a Fond du Lac hospital. We have been blessed with nine grandchildren, ranging from age 11 to under one year old, with three of them attending CWC this year.  One of my greatest joys is spending time with our family - especially the grandkids!

We are so thankful for CWC as it has played a crucial role in influencing the lives of our children, preparing them for service and helping them find their place in God's world. We love the fact that we could trust that all we taught at home was reinforced every day in every classroom at CWC and that each of the teachers really cared about not just the academic growth of our children but also their spiritual growth. They would not be who they are today without CWC.

MOST ENJOYABLE AT CWC:
One of the things I find especially enjoyable at CWC is the freedom to help the students see the hand of God in all subjects, especially science, to see His unfolding plan of salvation in history, and to learn to articulate that love to others. I love getting to know the kids and encouraging them to use their unique gifts each day.  My goal in teaching is to, along with my students, be awed by our Creator and remember how much He loves each of us and wants us to discover more about Him so that we can serve Him more fully.

FAVORITE BIBLE PASSAGE:
One of my favorite Bible passages is from Romans 15:5-7. "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God." I love these verses as they remind me that we are all called to love and accept one another, to build each other up and in this way we can give glory to God. As a teacher my deep hope is that we are rooted in the knowledge of God’s great love for us, and that we develop our gifts to serve Him, others, and His world. As a teacher my deep hope is that we experience God’s amazing love toward us and then express, by our words and actions, that love toward others.
