My deep hope is that my students will love the gift of music and use it to Glorify God.

K-12 Music Education from Trinity Christian College 1992

 

After graduating from Trinity Christian College I taught 1st-8th music at St. Mary's Catholic School for 3 years. When my first child was born in 1996, I became a stay-at-home mom. While the kids were yound I would substitute taught in a variety of classrooms. Starting in 2012 and over the course of 7 years, I served several times as a long-term substitute for music at CWC.

 

My husband Jeff Pausma and I have been married 30 years, we have 3 children: Clay (26) and his wife Brianna - they have a daughter, Brynn, Jocelyn (22) and Alex (20). I enjoy being a mom and love being a grandma. I love to read, garden, sing and cook. I also enjoy coffee and working out with my gym friends. I served several years as a Sunday school teacher and also directed my church choir. More recently, I've enjoyed singing with Ripon College's Choral Union.

 

I love working at CWC because of the kids. They make me laugh, groan, roll my eyes and smile. I absolutely love hearing them sing their hearts out at musicals and concerts. They all have unique personalities and abilities and I enjoy discovering them. Some days I marvel at the fact that I get paid to have this much fun.

 

My favorite Bible passage is Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
