Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, minor in Bible History, minor in U.S. History, and Master of Arts in Education
Educational Experience:
I began working at CWC by teaching preschool for a year. Prior to that, I taught Kindergarten at Lubbock Christian School in Texas, and tutored at the Wisconsin Dyslexia Institute in West Bend. After the Institute closed, I tutored dyslexic students on my own.
Family:
I am married to Eric Westra. Great guy. We are blessed with three children. I love them dearly. Our oldest is Mitch, a graduate of CWC. He is a Marine and currently serving as an embassy guard overseas. Our daughter Melanie, also a graduate of CWC, is working in Waupun and living on her own. Riley is our youngest. He is a senior at CWC this year. Hobbies I enjoy are biking, kayaking, walking, hiking, snow shoeing, and cross-country skiing. I love coffee and rom-coms. Fun facts: I sang with The Beach Boys, and I was in a T.V. commercial. I wish I could say that both made me rich and famous, but they didn't. Lol. I LOVE to laugh. I enjoy weaving fun and laughter into lessons and learning.
Why i love working at cwc:
Teaching is my passion, especially Bible and language arts. I honestly feel that I have the best job in the world. I'm grateful that God allows me to work with children, and that I have the opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives. I love teaching at CWC because it allows me to share my love for Jesus and speak the Word of God into and over the lives of students.
Favorite Bible Verse:
One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalm 125:2, "As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from henceforth even forever."
