STARTED AT CWC:
1986 - Present (35th year)
Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Dordt College. (1986)
In 1986 I began my career teaching 4th grade. That year I directed the Spring Musical and continued directing it through 2018. In 1989 I added elementary music. I taught this through the 2019 school year. In 1992, our first child was born and I decided to teach part-time. During those years I taught 3rd and 5th grade and in the middle school. In 1998 I started teaching middle school and high school choir. I also began leading the New Generation Singers. This is also when I started helping students prepare for Solo and Ensemble. Because of my health, in 2018 I went back to part-time teaching. Then in 2019 I made the extremely difficult decision to give up elementary music and middle school choir. I miss these classes so much but am very thankful I can still teach in the high school.
My husband Brian and I have 2 adult children. They are both married and live in Waupun. We also have 1 grandchild. I play piano and organ for worship services at 2 churches in Waupun. I also am a worship planner at my church. My husband and I love to grow vegetables and flowers!
Why I love working at CWC:
I love working at CWC so much. Because I was the music teacher for Kindergarten through 12th grade I really got to know the students well. I met them as such young children and watched them grow and blossom into young adults. What a blessing!
Favorite Bible Verse:
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” This was my 8th grade graduation verse and has just stuck with me through the years. My job here on earth is to do everything to His honor and His glory. He will take care of the rest.
Let your little light shine!
