My deep hope:
My deep hope is that we will discover and marvel at the promises of God.
I graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a B.A. in Elementary Education and minors in math and social studies. I am certified by the state of Wisconsin.
Upon graduating from Calvin College, I taught kindergarten for one year at Racine Christian School. The following year I started teaching first grade here at CWC. I taught at CWC from 1990-1995, teaching first, second, and third grades. After our second child was born, I took time off from teaching to be a full-time stay-at home mom. In 2009, I returned to teach 3rd grade at CWC.
I live on our family farm just outside of Waupun and am a mom to 4 children. Matt (CWC '12) and his wife, Laura live and work in the Sioux Falls, SD area, where Matt works at Compeer Financial and Laura is a CPA. Jon (CWC '14) works as an insurance adjuster, and his wife Brooke as an RN in Rock Valley, Iowa. I am loving my new role as grandma to Adalyn Ranae, who was born to Jon and Brooke in April! Alyssa (CWC '16) and her husband, Brandon live in Waupun. Alyssa teaches middle school language arts at Randolph Christian and Brandon works at Compeer Financial in Fond du Lac. Jenna (CWC '21) is a freshman at Dordt University, studying Agriculture Education. I attend Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun. Outside of school I enjoy cooking, baking, scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with family.
Not only do I strive to teach my 3rd graders to use their God-given academic gifts to the best of their ability, I also wish to instill in them, each and every day, a deeper love and understanding of Christ, along with love and respect for each other. I want them to realize that God loves them just as they are and that they are an important part of His story right here, right now! Every day in third grade we are reminded of why we are on this Earth...to glorify God and serve in his world!
Our class verse for this year is found in Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God."
