MY DEEP HOPE:
That my students will delight in God's design of themselves, others, and His world.
I attended Dordt University and received my BA in Elementary Education with a minor in reading. I graduated in 1992.
I began teaching at CWC in 1992. I taught third grade for 15 years, and have taught Kindergarten for 15 years. I just LOVE it!!!. This will be my 31st year of teaching. WOW! I'm now teaching kids of parents that I taught earlier in my career. I thank God for providing me the opportunity to teach at CWC and to play a small part in young childrens' lives.
My husband Gregg and I have been married for 32 years. He is currently CWC's Director of Advancement and Athletic Director. We both feel that it is a blessing to be able to work in a Christian school and love living in the Waupun community.
Our oldest son, Trevor is following the family tradition of being an educator. He and his wife, Lauren and adorable daughter, Sage, live in Lafayette, IN, where he is the administrator of Lafayette Christian School. Our second son, Cody and his wife Jeana and our first granddaughter, Harlow, are living in Nampa, ID. Mikayla is a senior at Dordt University studying Education and will be student teaching this year. She is engaged to Trevor Jackson (yes, another Trevor will be added to our family) and they are anticipating a July wedding. We attend 1st Christian Reformed Church in Waupun. My husband and I enjoy leading worship with our praise team.
THINGS I ENJOY DOING:
I enjoy being with my family, being a Grammie, gardening, reading, traveling, and of course teaching!!
WHY I LOVE TEACHING:
I enjoy working daily with students and helping them to see with open eyes the beauty of God's Creation. I also love seeing how God made each of my students in a unique and special way with their own talents, abilities, and personalities. It is a joy for me to watch children learn to praise God through singing and to learn about their Creator in so many different ways.
Another exciting part of teaching is to see each child grow throughout the year. Kindergartners change so much in a year. It's a real joy to see children love to learn and get excited about the learning process. It's a privilege to work at CWC with such a committed and talented team of teachers.
