In addition to doing a bit of traveling this summer, I participated in a three-day training on Neurodevelopment of students as a way to stay current in education. Each school year brings so many opportunities to learn and to lead my students in learning. I am so grateful for CWC!
YEARS AT CWC: 1982-1985 and 1990-present - I completed 29 years of teaching last year. What a blessing from God!
Education: BA Elementary Education from Calvin College, 1982 - Currently holding a Wisconsin Teaching Certificate
Educational Experience: I came to CWC with my husband Mark after graduating from Calvin College in 1982. For three years I taught Kindergarten in the downstairs storage room at the McKinley St. campus. At that time, the Kindergarten program was very young - operating less than 10 years. For two years I also taught the 5th and 6th grade music and choir classes.
After being a stay-at-home-mom for five years, I returned to CWC to teach 2nd grade. I am beginning my 30th year in teaching - and I love our "new" room and building - Praise God for His blessings!
FAMILY: My husband Mark is in his 35th year at CWC. Mark is our current administrator - entering his 9th year in this area. Prior to that, Mark taught mostly history and P.E. Mark is a native of Waupun leaving only during his four years at Calvin College. We were married in the summer of 1982. We have three children. All three have attended CWC. Scott is teaching social studies at Central Minnesota Christian School in Prinsburg, Minnesota. Scott enjoys taking his seniors to Washington D.C., just like his dad does! Scott's wife, Taryn, is a stay-at-home mom with their children - Alysia age 7, Jamin age 5, Jessa is 3 and Kyla is 1. Taryn sells Norwex products and is very involved in their church. Our son Ben and his wife Leah (previously Leah Hofman) live here in Waupun. Ben works in commercial lending at the National Bank in Waupun. Leah works part-time as an ultrasound technican in Waupun. We love having their three children, Conner, Haddie, and Mason living near us. Grandchildren are such a joy! Our daughter Lexy is serving in a "gap year" mission opportunity in Ausralia through YWAM. She expects to return to Dordt College for her sophomore year in the fall of 2017.
