2nd Grade Teacher
My Deep Hope - My Deep Hope for my 2nd graders is to understand that their stories are intertwined with God's Story and to realize that all of life is a Walk With Jesus.
Years at CWC - This is my 35th year of teaching at CWC!
Education - BA from Calvin College
After college, I taught Kindergarten for three years, some elementary music, and one year of high school typing, shorthand, and beginning business.  Following that, I was a stay-at-home mom for five years, also working part-time for a couple of years at the Waupun Public Library.  When I came back, I started with 2nd grade and I've been here ever since!  I've also been involved in many church activities, including Sunday School, Gems, Leadership committees, and more!  I've enjoyed many classes and workshops that have helped update me - such as, many in technology areas, STEM teaching (Integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), new methods of teaching, and more recently, Teaching for Transformation (Intentional Christianity).
Family & Activities - Mark and I were blessed with three children - all married now.  Our oldest son, Scott, teaches at Central Minnesota Christian.  He and his wife have 4 children ranging from 6-12 years old.  Ben works at the NEBAT bank in town, and his wife Leah is the Imaging Manager at Waupun Memorial.  Their kids range from 5-10 years old.  Our daughter Lexy was married "twice" during the COVID summer.  She works in the office of Eden Meats, and her husband is an electrician.
I enjoy a range of different activities, including traveling, camping, reading, hiking, and hanging out with grandkids.
I LOVE working at CWC because I can teach about Christ and how everything we do should be worshipping God.  And..........I LOVE hanging out with kids.
Favorite Bible Passage - I actually have MANY verses that reach out and touch me in different ways.
(2 Chronicles 7:14 - Isaiah 9 - Rev. 5:5-6 - Phil 4:8-9 - and more!)  But there is one verse that has touched me in many ways the last few years as the world around us changes in so many different ways.
Haggai 2:4 (During the rebuilding of the Temple) - "But now be strong Zerubbabel," declares the Lord.  "Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest.  Be strong all you people of the land," declares the Lord, "and work.  For I am with you," declares the Lord Almighty.
