YEARS AT CWC:
I began in January of 2019.
I grew up in Holland, MI, where I attended K - 12 at Holland Christian Schools. After graduating High School in 1992 I attended Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL, for 4 years where I earned Bachelor of Arts majors in vocal music and instrumental music and a minor in education. I graduated there in 1996.
PREVIOUS TO CWC:
Upon graduating from Trinity I was blessed to work for a church in the southeast Chicagoland area for 19 years. There I served as worship leader & technical director. My role included developing vocals and working with the bands/instrumentalists. I then spent 2 years working as a salesman for a ready mix company in Illinois and continued to work as a worship leader but for a different church located in Crown Point, Indiana. I also provided private vocal, piano & guitar lessons to students.
My wife, Sharla, and I met at Trinity Christian college and married after college on June 13, 1998, in the church where I was working. We lived in South Holland, IL, for about 5 years until the church relocated to IL as it was expanding. We moved to Saint John, IN, where we lived until we moved here. We are very blessed with the 4 children we have. Emma, who is a student at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI, Caleb, Avery, and Carter who are students here at CWC. We enjoy being a part of the school and serving where we can.
WHAT I'VE ENJOYED THE MOST AT CWC:
This was a big shift for me from what I had been previously doing. I have found I really enjoy being in the classroom with the students. The opportunity to talk about the Bible with students all the while getting to know them has been a blessing. Seeing them grow in their understanding and appreciation of the Bible. Overall, I have enjoyed being a part of the life and community of this school.
A FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE:
I find that I jump around to different verses in the Bible. But one that sticks the most is Psalm 16:8. "I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken." The entire chapter is good.
