Becky Vander Werff
I attended Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL and received my BA in Elementary Education and Special Education with a minor in Psychology. I graduated in 1999.
This is my 8th year teaching at CWC and I am very excited for another great year ! I began my teaching career for the Waupun School District(00-01) where I taught children who had Autism. I taught there for one year and was offered a position with CESA 6 at a specialized program that worked with children with Autism paired with a 4K program. I taught for CESA 6 for 3 years(01-04). Wanting to spend more time with my growing family I took a part-time position with the Waupun School District teaching Kindergarten(04-05). The next 8 years(05-13) I was able to stay home with my three children and take care of some other special kiddos as well. God opened a door for me in 2013 to teach 3K and 4k and I fell in love with it. In the spring of 2019 God directed my path to work with students with needs in the elementary. I feel so blessed to be able to be teaching at CWC, it feels like home!
My husband Mark and I have been married 20 years. He also works at CWC as Middle School and Girls' High School Athletic Director and teaches various classes at the high school, middle school, and elementary level. Teaching together at CWC is a blessing to our family.
We have three children who also attend CWC: Maxwell - Senior, Kaitlyn (KK) - Sophomore, and Josie - 7th grade.
Our family attends Bethel CRC in Waupun, where I am currently the Children's Ministry Director. I love working with the kids in the nursery, WOW, and Sunday School and watching them grow in God's Love.
During our free time our family enjoys hanging together either inside or out! I also enjoy spending time in my craft room scrapbooking and reading.
WHY I LOVE TEACHING:
I love working with children of all ages and abilities. Helping them learn about their environment and how to interact with those around them. I love to see the expression on each kiddos face as they understand something that they used to struggle with. God has made each of these precious children and it is a pleasure to help them discover and grow into who God calls them to be.
FAVORITE BIBLE PASSAGE:
Proverbs 16:9 - "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."
