Years at CWC: I started near the end of the 2021-2022 school year. I am excited to start my first full school year here at CWC and to get to know the students and families better!
Education: I attended Ripon College, receiving my Bachelors in Psychology and Spanish (2007). I then went on to Regent University to get my MA in Community Counseling (2010).
Educational Experience: I have worked in a few different clinical counseling settings, all of them included work with kids and families. I began my counseling career with Lutheran Social Services providing in-home child and family therapy through the Safe Schools Healthy Students Initiative. After receiving my licensure as a professional counselor (LPC), I then worked for Agnesian Healthcare/SSM Health in the Employee Assistance Program, providing counseling to individuals, families, children, couples. This also included providing consultation to employers in addressing mental health concerns in the workplace as well as providing mental health presentations/topics to employees. Most recently, I had been with Dodge County Clinical Services providing school-based mental health services for several school districts in the area. While these settings have been great and been instrumental in my growth as a counselor, I am thrilled to be at CWC where I can speak with the students and families about Christ and use the God’s Word as the foundation to navigate through life’s ups and downs.
Family: My husband Ben and I reside just outside of Alto. Our two children will be attending CWC this year; Isaac in Kindergarten and Audrey in the 3k program. As a family we enjoy spending time outdoors enjoying God’s creation. I enjoy gardening, spending time with friends and family, traveling (though that is more challenging to do these days).
Why I love working at CWC: First and foremost is the freedom to speak about God and offer biblical guidance to the kids as they navigate the academic, social and emotional challenges experienced in school. It has been great to meet and continue to get to know the staff and to work with others who love the Lord and love all of the kids here.
Favorite Bible Verse: One of my favorite passages is Romans 5: 3-5 “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us”
- For each student to grow in their relationship with God, knowing their identity in Christ
- For each student to learn to use God’s Word as foundation in navigating the challenges they may face; to learn to relate to themselves, others and the world as Christ would.
